1. Kaffeinted Fish Cafe

A charming glasshouse cafe tucked away in Skudai, Kaffeinted Fish Cafe is a cafe surrounded by nature and greenery - the perfect place for a getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life. Sadly, this cafe will be closing its doors on 31st December 2022, so make your way down for a visit before its too late!

With an extensive menu inclusive of brunch, sandwiches, croissants, and pastas, you may have a hard time deciding on your meal of choice. Mains aside, you can expect a variety of desserts, including cakes and pastries. The entire menu is priced extremely affordably between RM 10-24, with the beverages ranging from RM 9-12, definitely one of the lower-priced cafes around in Johor Bahru.

2. Off Day Cafe

Boosting a white minimalistic interior, Off Day Cafe is the perfect spot for a relaxing brunch and instagrammable photos. Aesthetically furnished with white furniture and lush greenery, Off Day Cafe gives off a vibe similar to the cafes seen commonly in Korea.

The cafe serves a variety of brunch foods and pastas ranging from RM 20-33, with some standouts being their Tomato Creamy Pasta (RM 33), Truffle Alfredo Pasta (RM 31), and Mentaiko Scrambled Egg Croissant (RM 22). Do save some space for their Strawberry Bubble Waffles (RM 28) as well, comprising of fluffy eggy waffles, fresh whipped cream, and premium Korean strawberries. Yet another Korean-inspired cafe in Johor Bahru, The Break First is a cafe specialising in thick, fluffy Korean toasts. Stuffed to the brim with ingredients and drizzled with sweet sauce and mayonnaise, these sandos will definitely leave you wanting for more! The Korean toasts are priced affordably between RM 9.90 - 16, while other sides such as Seaweed Fries (RM 15) are available for sharing as well.

With a price range of RM14-38, Commune serves up quality brunch food at a fraction of the prices commonly seen in Singapore cafes. With dishes including Eggs Benedict Croissant (RM24), Miso Alfredo Udon (RM25), and Seafood Risotto (RM37), there is definitely something for everyone!

Boosting an extensive menu comprising of brunch, pastas, and sides, you'd definitely be spoilt for choice. Some of the mains include Yard Breakfast (RM 29), Laksa Pasta (RM 26.90), and Snooze Button (RM 21.90), consisting of a mound of Eggs Benedict atop a bagel. Do give their Milk Mochi (RM 15.90) a go as well, doi-doi milk mochi nestled in a plateful of crushed peanuts and black sesame powder, with a side of brown sugar syrup.
